Solution Architect

Roles and Responsibilities

• Supports demand management by working with business partners to prioritize requests and manage the workload of developers
• Leads efforts involving Agency partners to ensure that our development processes are followed, and timelines are met
• Translates business requirements into solutions and/or solution directions
• Drives implementation of solutions in adherence with the solution design
• Actively uses and promotes best practice solutions
• Ensure quality and consistency with for deployments via standardized CI/CD processes and automated testing
• Keeps system documentation up-to-date for the business processes / applications in scope
• Contributes to and initiates continuous improvement activities
• Oversees the solutioning of new and existing applications systems
• Assess functional and non-functional requirements of backlogs and proposals to determine architectural impacts
• Advise development teams on system technical design as a subject matter expert, providing solutions that reinforce the enterprise architectural strategy

Weigh the overall priority ranking of each of the possible system qualities (cost, reusability, robustness, etc.) as to enforce a "balance of concerns"

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar technical degree (BSCS, BSEE etc.)
• 7 - 10 years of experience hands on design, development, delivering software to market and support
• 5 -7 years of experience in a Solution Architect role
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
• Deep hands-on experience leading the design, development and deployment of large-scale customer-facing software with experience in various web development tech stacks including .Net, LAMP and Angular
• Solid understanding of relational database design concepts and SQL programming in various databases including SQL Server and MySQL
• Proven experience and strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience with Agile delivery
• Cloud computing experience with Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure (infrastructure, deployment, storage, platforms and data experience required)
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes is a plus
• Knowledge of setting up CI/CD pipelines for a wide variety of applications is desired
• Experience optimizing various web servers including Nginx, Apache and IIS
• Deep understanding of DNS and network troubleshooting concepts

Familiarity with Magento and/or Drupal architecture is a plu
